Video Recording

General Use

The One Button Studio at Colby allows for easy recording of yourself, a laptop, or both simultaneously. The room has all the lights, cameras, microphones and other recording tools needed. All you have to do is bring a thumb drive.

Lecture Capture

While Colby does not offer a general classroom recording service, a lecture or guest speaker can be recorded in a few different ways:

  • Miller Library has a loaner pool of camcorders and tripods which can be checked out for recording events.  For counsel, as it pertains to academic endeavors, the Academic Technology Services team may be available for individual consultation.
  • Several lecture halls — including Keyes 105, Arey 005, Miller 008, Lovejoy 100, Olin 001, Diamond 142 (Ostrove), and Gordon studio and classroom spaces — offer built-in lecture capture technology. To request the scheduling of a recording, please fill out the Request Service button on this page.

For anyone needing further assistance in recording their lecture, please contact Academic Technology Services team.

For technical assistance in capturing an event on campus, please contact the ITS Support Center at 859-4222.
