Zoom is a cloud-based web video conferencing service. It features video and audio or audio-only meetings, along with screen sharing and text chat. These sessions can be recorded either locally or to the cloud for archival or distribution.
A basic Zoom account allows a user to host meetings of indefinite length between two participants but meetings with 3 to 300 participants end after 40 minutes.
Faculty and staff users of Zoom may request a licensed Zoom account, allowing for longer meetings with more participants than the free version. This will also enable the use of cloud recordings. Please click the Request Pro License link on this page.
