High Performance Computing (HPC)

High-Performance Computing (HPC) is the use of networked computers utilizing parallel computing processing techniques for solving complex computational problems.

The Academic Technology Services team assists faculty, staff, and students with the hardware and software behind the HPC clusters. There are two clusters currently at Colby.

  • NSCC - Our main production cluster. Faculty and students have used this system to facilitate coursework and research for the last 15+ years.
  • New Cluster - Our new system is currently in development! Limited access has been granted to some faculty for initial testing use cases. Expanding news and access will be forthcoming.
