Importing a Moodle Course into another

Note: If you need to import a course prior to Fall 2013, please email moodle@colby.edu and make a request.

Please perform the following steps to import a Moodle course into another.

1. In the new course site, click on the cogwheel  and choose import
   
2. Select the old course site from which you want to import content. Click continue.
   
3. In Backup settings choose Include activities. Click continue.
   
4. Select exactly what you want to bring over to your new course. 
   • IMPORTANT: Be sure to deselect  the Announcements forum (previously called the News forum.) Your new course site will automatically have this built-in. You don’t want two! Click continue.
   
5. You now get one last look at what you have selected. Click confirm import and you are all set. Check your new course site to look at what has imported. You can always delete items if you change your mind.
