Password Management

The Colby login and password are used to access a wide variety of services. Review of the Colby ITS "Acceptable Use Policy” is strongly suggested so that you fully understand the sensitivity and security issues related to your login and password.

  • Faculty, staff, and students can reset their Colby passwords from the “Set or Change your Email Password” page.
  • Faculty, staff, and students can retrieve a password if forgotten with okta.colby.edu and click on the link for "Need help signing in?" and then "Forgot password?". The forgotten password service only works if a non-Colby secondary email address is on file in the Okta profile. (To set up a secondary email address in Okta click here.)
  • New faculty and staff will remotely set their initial password via a generated email from Okta to a non-Colby secondary email address provided to Colby during the hiring process or by visiting the ITS Support Center in Lovejoy 146. A photo ID is required for in-person service.
  • Mid-year transfer students will set their initial password by visiting the ITS Support Center in Lovejoy 146. A photo ID is required.
  • Incoming students will set their password remotely with information supplied to them from Admissions.
  • Parent ID and passwords are preset, however the password can be changed from the Parents tab in myColby.
