Downloading and installing Microsoft Office 365
Summary: Colby students can download Microsoft Office 365 for free by signing in with their Colby email account.
All Colby students can create a Microsoft account using their Colby email and download Microsoft Office 365 at no cost.
- Navigate to the Microsoft Education site.
- Select Get Office free.
- An Office 365 page will open, click Sign in.
- Enter your Colby email address under the Microsoft Sign in.
- If prompted, create a Microsoft 365 account using your Colby login credentials. If you already have an account, sign in.
- After signing in, the system navigates to the Microsoft 365 homepage.
- To download the Office suite, select Apps in the left menu, click the Install apps drop down in the upper right, and select Microsoft 365 apps.
- Another Microsoft Office page will open, click Install Office and download the Office Installer.
- Open the downloaded file to launch the installation wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
