Beginning A Recording
To begin recording with Kaltura Capture make sure you have installed on your device and are login into your profile. Then open Kaltura Capture resulting in the below UI popping up.
From Screen, Camera, and Audio, you can click on the drop down menu to change what Kaltura is recording. For instance, if you click the Screen drop down menu, you can change which display or the area of the screen you are recording. Similarly for Camera, and Audio you can change the input device from which you are recording.
Click the Red Start Recording Button on the left to begin a recording. A countdown will start (during which you can cancel) and a basic recording User Interface will be opened.
The Recording User Interface (UI)
The elements of this UI include (from left to right):
- Stop recording button to finish the recording
- Pause/Resume recording button
- Cancel recording button to discard the recording
- Elapsed Time of the recording
- Microphone
- Pencil icon to open the whiteboard options

The Screen icon (on the bottom right) of the whiteboard options will open a new whiteboard

The Trash icon (on the bottom right) will erase everything off the whiteboard

The Pencil icon (on the top left) will allow you to draw/write with your cursor when clicking and moving

The Arrow icon (on the top left) will allow you to draw arrows by clicking at a starting point and dragging to an endpoint

The Text icon (on the top left) will allow you to type text on the whiteboard where you click.

The Drag icon (on the bottom left) will allow you to move and rotate the elements (drawings, arrows, text) on the whiteboard

The Cursor icon (on the bottom left) will be grayed out and unavailable when using the whiteboard

The Colors (on the top right) can be used to change the color of the element you are creating or have selected

The size Slider (on the right) can be used to change the size of the element you are creating or have selected
- Minimize icon (the line at the top right of the UI) to minimize the recording UI from your screen
Completing the Recording
To finish the recording and save the recorded content, click the Stop recording button. Upon prompt, click Yes, Stop it to confirm you have finished recording.
When your recording finishes, you can now fill in the final details of Title, Description and Tags for the video. You can also choose to Delete, Save & Upload, or Save the video.
