Setting Up an Amazon Fire Stick

Instructions for setting up an Amazon Fire Stick:

  1. Plug the Fire Stick into wall power, and then into the HDMI port of the TV.
  2. Once connected, follow on screen instructions to finish the setup for the Amazon account etc.
  3. Write down the MAC address of your Fire Stick. It can be found on the About menu under the Settings tab.
  4. Go to Clearpass and create a new device with this MAC address. Choose your account role and check Enable AirGroup. Give the system some time (15+ minutes) to register the new device.
  5. Go to Network Settings on your Fire Stick and connect to Colby Guest Access. You'll need to sign in with your name and Colby email address (No conference ID needed).
If you encounter an error while trying to connect to Colby Guest Access, it means Clearpass hasn't yet registered your device. Try again in 30 minutes.
