Setting up Okta FastPass on non-Colby computers

For macOS devices

Before you begin, please make sure your Touch ID is enabled on your Mac. Instructions on how to set up Touch ID on your Mac can be found here.

  1. Using a web browser, navigate to okta.colby.edu and click Sign in with Okta FastPass.
  2. Click Download here. You will be redirected to Apple’s app store. 
  3. Click View in Mac App Store.
  4. Click Get.
  5. Click Open.
  6. You will be greeted with “Welcome to Okta Verify”. Click Get Started.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter okta.colby.edu for the Organization’s sign-in URL and click Next.
  9. You will be directed to okta.colby.edu. Log in using your Colby account credentials.
  10. You will be asked to enable Touch ID. If you do not have a fingerprint enrolled, you will be asked to do so. Click Enable.
  11. After enabling, you will be presented the Okta Verify screen displaying your Colby account. 
  12. You did it! Your Mac is now enrolled in Okta FastPass.

 

For Windows devices:

Before you begin you will need to configure Windows Hello on your device. Please follow these instructions ensuring that a PIN, fingerprint or facial recognition is enabled.    

  1. Using a web browser, navigate to okta.colby.edu and click Sign in with Okta FastPass.
  2. Click Download here. This will download the required installation file to your web browser's download folder.
  3. Find the executable that was downloaded. 
  4. Double-click the downloaded executable.
  5. Agree to terms and click Install.
  6. Click Finish.
  7. There will now be an Okta Verify icon on your desktop and listed as an installed application. Double-click Okta Verify.
  8. Click Get Started.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Enter okta.colby.edu 
  11. You will be directed to okta.colby.edu to verify your account. Log in using your Colby account credentials.
  12. You may be asked to verify with Windows Hello. This is not required.
  13. Once authenticated successfully, the Okta Verify application will list your Colby account. 
  14. You did it! Your Windows device is now enrolled in Okta FastPass.
