Unused media entries in Kaltura are required to stay active; otherwise they are subject to deletion rules:
- Media not played in the last 4 years will have playback disabled.
- Media not played in the last 7 years will be permanently deleted.
Owners of media entries will receive automatic notifications from Kaltura, sent from notifications@kaltura.com, when an entry is due to reach one of these cut-off points. The email will state something similar to:
"To prevent your media from being deleted, please play each entry for at least 10 seconds within the next 14 days. Doing so will reset its retention policy to 4 years from the playback date. If no action is taken, the media will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
The entries that are set to expire are listed at the end of this email. If you have any questions, please contact the Colby ITS Media Technology team at acit_video@colby.edu."
