Setting the Windows Power Scheme

Use the Windows Power Scheme settings to automatically turn off the monitor. We recommend not turning off the hard disks or setting system standby.

  1. Click on the search bar in the lower left corner near the start button. Type Power & Sleep settings. The option for power & sleep settings should appear as  a search result.
  2. You can adjust your screen and PC sleep settings here.

For more advanced settings, click on the Additional power settings, then Change advanced power settings. Here, you can further tailor these settings.


We recommend turning off your display after 15 minutes and putting the computer to sleep after 1 hour.

 

Setting time values like minutes to 0 (see image below) means never perform that action. The example below shows never turn off your hard disk.
