Enable Live Transcription (Captioning) in Zoom Meetings

Zoom offers the ability for any licensed user to add live transcription to meetings for which they are the host.  To enable this, perform the following steps.

  1. Log in to your Colby Zoom account settings.
  2. Click on Settings > Meeting > In Meeting (Advanced)
  3. Scroll down to Closed Captioning and ensure that it is turned on.
  4. Check the box next to Enable Live Transcription Service...
  5. Launch your Zoom meeting.
  6. Click on the Live Transcript button in the bottom menu.
  7. Click on Enable Auto Transcription.
  8. Participants who need captions must turn them on as well.  To do this, click on the Live Transcript button at the bottom of the screen, and select Show Subtitle.
