Colby has a published company contact directory in both the Zoom Workplace app and the Zoom Mobile app, which can be used for Zoom Phone.
Getting Started
What is the Company Directory?
The Company Directory is a group contact list for all Colby Faculty and Staff members who have a Zoom account at Colby. This is not the system of record for your or anyone's contact information.
Where to find the Company Directory
The Company Directory can be found in both the Zoom Workplace app or the Zoom Mobile app.
Zoom Workplace
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Workplace. Refer to the "Signing in to Zoom on your computer" section of our Zoom Overview and Help article.
2. Click the Contact icon in your navigation bar. This icon may be hidden under the More icon.
Your navigation bar could either be on the left or top of Zoom Workplace depending on your version of the client.
3. In the Contacts page under Groups, expand Company Directory by clicking the dropdown arrow.
4. Click on Colby Faculty & Staff.

Zoom Mobile App
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Mobile app. Refer to the "Sign into the Zoom mobile App" section of our Zoom Phone on Your Smartphone article.
2. Tap the More icon in your navigation bar at the bottom.
3. Tap the Contacts icon.
4. In the Contacts page under All contacts , expand Colby Faculty & Staff by clicking the dropdown arrow.

What information about me in shared in the Company Directory?
Your contact information, provided by your Zoom account, is shared in a contact card listed in the Company Directory.
Depending on the information you have set, your contact card can include:
- Your name
- Your location
- Your local time (time zone)
- Your department
- Your extension
- Your direct company number
- Your phone number
- Your email
NOTE: A set phone number in your Zoom Profile is different than your Zoom Phone number.

Where do I view my shared information?
You can view your Zoom account information by logging into your account on the Zoom Web Portal.
1. Use this direct link to your profile and sign into the Zoom Web Portal: colby.zoom.us/profile
2. Your Name and Department are set at the top of the page.
3. Other information like Phone or Time Zone are listed under the section Personal information.

How to Use the Company Directory to Call Colleagues
There are a few methods you can use the Company Directory in both Zoom Workplace and the Zoom Mobile app.
Zoom Workplace - Method 1
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Workplace. Refer to the "Signing in to Zoom on your computer" section of our Zoom Overview and Help article.
2. Click the Phone icon in your navigation bar.
Your navigation bar could either be on the left or top of Zoom Workplace depending on your version of the client.
3. Click on "Enter a name or number..." above the dial pad and type the name of the person you wish to dial.
Ensure the name you've entered is spelt correctly.
4. Click to dial the person who appears.
If there are multiple people with the same first name, try entering their last name if known.
5. Alternatively, if the person has multiple numbers set, hover over the arrow on the right of their name, and click the number you wish to call them at.

Zoom Workplace - Method 2
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Workplace. Refer to the "Signing in to Zoom on your computer" section of our Zoom Overview and Help article.
2. Click the Contact icon in your navigation bar. This icon may be hidden under the More icon.
Your navigation bar could either be on the left or top of Zoom Workplace depending on your version of the client.
3. In the Contacts page under Groups, expand Company Directory by clicking the dropdown arrow.
4. Click on Colby Faculty & Staff.
5. You may either scroll in this page to find the person you are looking for, or you may search at the top of the page for the person.
6. To call, hover over their listing and click on the Phone icon, or click on their listing and press the Call button.

Zoom Mobile - Method 1
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Mobile app. Refer to the "Sign into the Zoom mobile App" section of our Zoom Phone on Your Smartphone article.
2. Tap the Phone icon in your navigation bar at the bottom.
3. Tap the Dial pad icon.
3. Tap on "Enter a name or number" above the dial pad and type the name of the person you wish to dial.
Ensure the name you've entered is spelt correctly.
4. Tap to dial the person who appears.
If there are multiple people with the same first name, try entering their last name if known.
Zoom Mobile - Method 2
1. If not already done so, sign into Zoom Mobile app. Refer to the "Sign into the Zoom mobile App" section of our Zoom Phone on Your Smartphone article.
2. Tap the More icon in your navigation bar at the bottom.
3. Tap the Contacts icon.
4. Tap the Search Icon on the top right of the screen.
5. Enter the name of the person you wish to call.
Ensure the name you've entered is spelt correctly.
6. Tap on the person who appears.
If there are multiple people with the same first name, try entering their last name if known.
7. Tap on the Phone Icon on the top right of the screen to call them.
Why can't I call someone in the directory?
When trying to call a user listed in the directory but they don't have their phone number set, this can mean one of two things:
1. They're not configured to use Zoom Phone yet.
2. They have been placed into the Private Directory.
What is the Private Directory?
The Private Directory is a phone directory configured by ITS to exempt some users from having their phone numbers be searchable within Zoom. This does not prevent users from being listed in the Company Directory. Users will still have their contact card listed within the Company Directory, only without their Colby telephone number.
Can I be added to the Private Directory?
You may request to be added to the Private Directory by contacting Colby ITS at support@colby.edu.
