Map Network Drive—Mac & Windows

There are many network resources available to the Colby community, including personal file storage, video storage, and web space. Mapping a network drive will allow you to access those network resources easily without having to browse to the full path each time. You must know the network path before starting this process. Instructions for both Macs and Windows are as follows.

Mac Instructions

Note: If you do not log in to your computer using your Colby e-mail address and password, you will need to enter your Colby e-mail address and password to access the server.

After connecting to the server (instructions to connect to Filer are found here)

1. Hit the Apple menu, then System Preferences > Users & Groups

2. Click the lock icon to unlock settings and prepare for changes

3. From here, select Login Items and click + to add a new item

4. Find your network drive and click Add, then close the window

5. Click the lock to prevent further changes.
