Connect to Colby apps with the Windows app on Mac

Colby provides access to select Windows applications that are essential for business to Mac users. The Windows app is the replacement for Citrix. This guide will show you how to get connected on Mac. VPN connection is required.

Install the Windows App

  1. Open the Self Service app catalog. You can find it in Applications or search with Spotlight.

     
  2. In the search bar type "windows". Click Install on the Windows App icon that appears.


 

Connect to the Colby Apps Workspace

  1. Connect to the Colby VPN.

     
  2. Open the Windows app and then click Apps on the left sidebar.

     
  3. Click the Plus button in the top right, then select Add Workspace.

     
  4. Copy and Paste this URL https://appstreaming.colby.edu into the dialog box:

     
  5. In the Credentials drop down select Add Credentials.

     
  6. Type your Colby ID and password and click Add.

     
  7. Click Add again to complete adding the Colby Workspace.
  8. Your available apps will appear. Double click the icon to launch. First time launch will take between 30 second and 1 minute.

     
  9. If applicable, you will also have PowerFAIDs available as a full Desktop interface under Devices.

Example connection

  1. Double click on the app icon. This example uses PowerFAIDS.

  2. A progress bar followed by the loading screen will appear. First time launch will take between 30 second and 1 minute.

  3. The app will appear a few moments later.
