Uploading a Video to Kaltura

Users may choose to upload their own video files into Kaltura.  While Kaltura has its own recording programs (like Kaltura Capture), but some individuals may have their own videos that they would like to add.  These could come from video editing software like iMovie, or a downloaded video from the internet, or from other software like Zoom.  Follow the steps below for instructions on how to upload your video to Kaltura:

1. Log in to Kaltura's My Media.
2. In the upper right, click Add New.
   
3. Select Media Upload.
4. In the next screen, either drag-and-drop your media into the central box, or click on Choose a file to upload.
5. As the upload progress bar loads, modify metadata fields as needed or leave as default.
   • Occasionally a video will be an incompatible format and you will receive an error.  If this happens, please submit a request in our service catalog.
6. Click Save.
7. Click Go To Media to view the video.  Please note that videos can take some time to be viewable.
