Body

To record audiovisual content in Gordon 180, please follow these steps:

  1. Schedule a recording through acit_video@colby.edu. You should provide the start time, end time, and title of your event.
  2. Prior to the start of your event, turn on the classroom's AV system through the touch panel on the front wall of Gordon 180.
  3. Choose the appropriate source for your video content (e.g., HDMI, Solstice Pod). Please note:  The most reliable way to record a computer is to use the Solstice Pod (follow on-screen instructions). HDMI ports, especially with Macs, can result in the computer not being recorded by the AV system.
  4. A microphone must be worn to capture your voice!
    1. Take one of the two microphones. These can be found on the far wall, just above the AV rack. One has a clip so that it can be worn. Either or both mics may be used.

    2. Once the mic has been removed from its docking station, it will default to a muted mode (indicated by the red light). To unmute, press the black button on the front of the mic. The light should now be green.
    3. If you don't want in-room amplification (i.e., your voice being heard in the room), you will need to mute the mic at the room's control panel. Press the mute button under the microphone heading.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Once the recording has concluded, place the microphone back in its charging dock and turn the room's AV system off (from the touch panel). Videos can be accessed from the Colby Video Portal.
