Google Suite – Deleted Users Shared Documents

When a person leaves Colby (graduation, transfer, retirement, etc), all documents they shared via Google Suite will no longer be available to those they shared them with. Please follow the steps below to determine whether a document shared with you is pending deletion.

1. Open a web browser and browse to the Google Drive Shared with me.
2. Open any shared document.
3. Click on the File menu and choose Document details
   
4. In the Document details window that displays, if the Owner starts with del; that means this document is pending deletion.
   
5. To prevent losing access to this document, click on the File menu and choose Make a Copy.
   
6. Give the new file a Name and choose to review the other options and set them appropriately.
